Practice Areas

Chris is a partner in the St. John's office of Cox & Palmer. Since being admitted to the Newfoundland and Labrador Bar in 2004, Chris' practice has focused primarily in the area of employment and labour law. Chris provides advice and representation mainly to employer clients in relation to employment contracts, wrongful dismissal claims, discipline and discharge of employees, labour standards, human rights and the duty to accommodate, applications for certification, unfair labour practice complaints, successor rights applications, collective agreement interpretation and negotiation, grievance arbitrations, injunction applications during labour disputes, workers' compensation and occupational health and safety matters, as well as immigration/work permit issues in the employment of foreign workers. Chris has appeared before the Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador, as well as before various administrative tribunals.

In addition to his employment and labour practice, which includes focus on the employment of foreign workers, Chris also practices in the areas of corporate and commercial law, general litigation, and real estate.
