Kevin is the Managing Partner of the Halifax office. He has practised law since 1985 and was awarded his Queen’s Counsel in 2004. He advises private and public sector clients on litigation, employment & labour, municipal, and regulatory matters. Kevin is recognized by Best Lawyers Canada as a leading lawyer in Employment Law.
Currently a member of the Halifax Chamber of Commerce Municipal Government Affairs Committee; Kevin is also a former Governor of NSCAD University.
Kevin has an extensive civil litigation practice that involves commercial disputes, insurance coverage, estate litigation, tort and contract claims. Recent notable cases include: Maritime Steel and Foundries Ltd. v. Economical Mutual Insurance Co., 2011 NSSC 151. He has argued cases in all levels of court in Nova Scotia and before arbitrators and administrative tribunals, including the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board.
Practising in all areas of employment & labour law, representing management, employers and employees, Kevin has a particular interest in wrongful dismissal and the enforcement of non-solicitation and non-competition clauses. His expertise includes representation in grievance and disciplinary proceedings before arbitrators, external boards, and the courts.
