Kevin is the Managing Partner of the Halifax office. He has practised law since 1985 and was awarded his Queen’s Counsel in 2004. He advises private and public sector clients on litigation, employment & labour, municipal, and regulatory matters.
Kevin is recognized as a leading practitioner by the publication Best Lawyers in Canada 2015. Kevin is a member of the Board of Directors of the National Youth Orchestra Canada (NYOC).
Kevin has an extensive civil litigation practice that involves commercial disputes, insurance coverage, estate litigation, tort and contract claims. Recent notable cases include: Maritime Steel and Foundries Ltd. v. Economical Mutual Insurance Co., 2011 NSSC 151. He has argued cases in all levels of court in Nova Scotia and before arbitrators and administrative tribunals, including the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board.
Practising in all areas of employment & labour law, representing management, employers and employees, Kevin has a particular interest in wrongful dismissal and the enforcement of non-solicitation, non-competition and confidentiality clauses. His expertise includes representation in grievance and disciplinary proceedings before arbitrators, external boards, and the courts.
