The lawyers and staff of Cox & Palmer are saddened by the passing of their friend and colleague Robert W. Carmichael.  Rob spent his entire career with the firm becoming a partner in 1989. He was recognized as a leading practitioner in the field of energy, oil & gas.  Rob also taught Oil and Gas Law at Dalhousie University and published many articles on the topic.  Rob had been involved in various aspects of Nova Scotia's offshore oil and gas development including extensive participation in the Sable Offshore Energy Project.

Rob was an active community member serving on the board for Adsum House for over 20 years.  He was devoted to Ann and their children, Jonathan, Laura and Kathleen.
