Amy is a partner with Cox & Palmer’s Halifax office and practices in the areas of litigation, insurance defence law and professional regulation.  She earned her law degree at the University of New Brunswick after completing a degree in political science at St. Francis Xavier University.

Amy is a frequent lecturer on civil litigation and insurance defence issues and also contributes to a series of Case Law Updates for the insurance industry. She is Chair of the National Insurance Law Sub-Section for the Canadian Bar Association.

Amy is also currently the chair of the Articling and Recruitment Committee for Cox & Palmer’s Halifax office, looking for great students to join the firm and guiding them successfully through the articling process.

Experience

  • Regularly represents insurance clients on a wide variety of issues.
  • Extensive experience in automobile claims, including bodily injury and accident benefits claims pertaining to income replacement; professional liability and discipline; occupiers’ liability; product liability; and property damage claims
  • Appeared before all levels of court in Nova Scotia and before numerous administrative Boards and Tribunals in professional disciplinary matters.
